The German giant will deliver 27 of its 3MW 101 turbines with rotor diameters of 101 metres for the scheme in Pagudpud, Illocos Norte.

Installation and commissioning of the machines is scheduled for next year.

The deal with Northern Luzon UPC Asia Corporation, AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure also includes a five-year-service agreement.

Siemens Wind Power chief executive for the Asia Pacific region Kay Weber said: “We are delighted to have won our first order in Philippines to support the further development of its renewable energy.”
