Siemens has appointed Markus Tacke as chief executive of its Energy Sector’s Wind Power Division. He will take up the role on 1 August and succeeds Felix Ferlemann, who is leaving the company “by mutual agreement to pursue new career challenges”.

Tacke is currently chief executive of the Energy Sector’s Industrial Power Business Unit, which is responsible for the German giant’s industrial power generation business worldwide.

The 48-year-old completed doctoral studies in mechanical engineering at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and has a master of engineering degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Siemens management board member Michael Süß thanked the outgoing Ferlemann for his efforts, adding: “Felix provided essential stimuli.”
