Moventas sees potential in India growth

Moventas, one of the world’s leading gear manufacturers, has opened a subsidiary in India. Developing a quality service network in the country is Moventas’ top priority. Local assembly operations could also be in the pipeline.

Moventas India will initially develop its service network to cater to their existing gearbox fleet in the wind and other industrial segments. Moventas is also considering setting up a local assembly operation in the country, depending on customer needs.
Moventas Gears India Private Limited, based in Chennai, has appointed Mr. Rajesh Raghavan as the Managing Director to spearhead the Indian operations.

Moventas’ next steps in the area are human resources recruitment and competency development according to its global standards. After this, developing a limited assembly workshop could be the next phase and, if customer need be, eventually ramping up local assembly over time.
