APGenco’s project will be taken up by new govt.

Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated that he would strive to ensure execution of long-pending gas-based power plant of APGenco in Nedunuru village here.

“If there is short supply of gas, then the power plant should be converted into a thermal power station to generate at least 1,000 MW power,” he maintained.

Talking to the newsmen here on Sunday, he said despite acquiring land for the project and laying foundation stone, the project was shelved due to non-allocation of gas. However, he exuded confidence that the project would be taken up by the new government that would soon be formed in Telangana State.

Giving details about his campaign for Zilla Parishad elections, he said he would visit all the mandals in his Parliament constituency from April 1 to 7. Later, he would file nomination papers from Karimnagar Parliament constituency as a Congress nominee on April 9. He also said he would intensify campaigning after filing nomination.

He predicted that the Congress party would win in all the municipalities falling under his constituency.

Karimnagar Urban Bank chairman Karra Rajashekhar, former Mayor D. Shankar and others were also present.
