Vestas wins two wind turbines supply contracts in Asia

Denmark-based Vestas has secured two wind turbines supply contracts in the Asian countries of South Korea and the Philippines.

Vestas will deliver 21 V90-3.0 MW turbines for the second stage of EDC Burgos Wind Power’s Burgos wind project located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte province, Philippines.

The deal also includes installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, associated civil and electrical works as well as a 10-year AOM5000 service contract.

The company expects to start the wind turbines delivery in the second quarter of 2014.

Vestas has received an order from GS Yeongyang Windpower to supply 18 V112-3.3 MW wind turbines for the 59.4MW Yeong Yang wind farm project in South Korea.

The turbines are anticipated to be commissioned in late 2015 and the contract also includes a 10-year full-scope service agreement.

After completion, the Yeong Yang wind farm is expected to generate about 135,000 MWh of clean renewable energy per year and make a significant contribution to helping South Korea meet its clean energy goals.
