Silver Spring, EDMI expand smart infrastructure partnership

Silver Spring Networks has expanded its partnership with EDMI to provide smart city and smart energy solutions in various new regions.

After the phase one deployment with the Singapore Power, Silver Spring and EDMI will now provide their solutions in Australia and New Zealand, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Silver Spring said it will use EDMI devices as control nodes to help manage and monitor intelligent street lights as part of the Silver Spring Smart City Solution.

Silver Spring Networks executive vice president of global development and sales Eric Dresselhuys said: “Asia is home to some of the most rapidly growing cities on earth and, along with this growth, we are seeing unprecedented demand for infrastructure modernization in new regions, and for new smart energy and smart city applications.

“EDMI is an industry leader in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Europe, and we’re delighted to expand our partnership to ensure we are offering more choice to our smart city and smart grid customers across the globe.”

Silver Spring has connected more than 18.5 million homes and businesses in five continents.

The company works with global utilities and cities including Copenhagen, Dublin, Miami, Oslo, Paris, and Donnugan and Foshan in China, to deploy smart city applications.
