Reliance Power increases cooperation with China

Reliance Power, part of Reliance (ADA) Group, has formed a strategic partnership with China Datang Corporation (CDT) for development and operation of power and energy projects in India and overseas.

CDT is represented by the China Datang Overseas Investment Company (CDTO). CDT, a major power producer in China, has a power generation capacity of over 1 lakh mw, and is amongst China’s top 50 companies.

The partnership envisages co-operation in the areas of coal mining and O&M services to power plants. Reliance Power has three coal mines in South Sumatra in Indonesia having 2 billion tonnes of coal resources.

The collaboration will cover development of the coal mines including investments, development of transportation infrastructure and off-take of coal. The O&M services will relate to power plants in India and other identified markets, including Reliance Power’s own power generation units.
