Power-One and Phono Solar Team Up to Tackle Asia

Power-One Inc. in Camarillo, which makes solar inverters, power conversion and power management products, said it has allied with solar panel manufacturer and system developer Phono Solar to expand its Asia-Pacific market presence.

Under the agreement, Power-One and Phono Solar will jointly develop, market and sell photovoltaic systems worldwide using Power-One inverters and monitoring systems, the company said. The two companies will also join forces to be a preferred key equipment supplier for large projects through the Sumec Group, which will provide access to large photovoltaic projects in China.

The alliance will also target countries with strong developing photovoltaic markets, such as Japan, Australia and other Asia Pacific countries.

Phono Solar, a division of the Sumec Group, has its U.S. headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. The company said the alliance will reinforce its product development initiatives and maintain its horizontal supply chain integration strategy.

Phono Solar has installed solar arrays at airports, high schools, homes and businesses in the U.S., Asia and Europe.
