GLOBAL VIRTUAL ACCESS TO ASEAN ENERGY BUSINESS FORUM ANNOUNCED
The premiere annual gathering of the ASEAN energy Ministers and Global Energy Leaders, ASEAN Energy Business Forum 2020 to be held virtually from November 17 to 20, 2020.
Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc to officiate opening ceremony.
The premier annual gathering of the ASEAN energy Ministers and Global Energy Leaders, ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2020 provides a unique platform for ASEAN policy makers and global private sector organisations to drive forward the region’s energy transition plans and projects valued at US$3.5 trillion by 2040. Global Energy executives and Senior Policy Makers are all set to engage in public-private partnership cooperation discussions and project development business collaboration meetings.
Hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Vietnam, event co-organizers ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and dmg events have taken the decision to host AEBF virtually from November 17 to 20, 2020, with the full Forum resuming in Q3 2021 in Brunei.
The decision was taken after careful consideration for the health and safety of participants and as a preventive measure in response to COVID-19.
The 38th edition of the Forum will centre around the theme of ‘Responsive and Cohesive Energy Pathways for ASEAN’ and will be held in conjunction with the 38th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM). The Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, is set to deliver the keynote speech to officiate the joint opening ceremony.
Furthermore, the opening ceremony will see the launch of APAEC Phase 2: 2021-2025; and the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook. These initiatives will chart the region’s collective energy pathways for Governments and the industry for the next 5 years and beyond.
AEBF 2020 Virtual will host the Energy Ministers of all 10 ASEAN member states, in addition to an esteemed list of over 20 Government Officials and Heads of National Power Authorities and Heads of National Energy Companies. Spanning three days, the virtual platform will enable ASEAN policy makers to showcase national energy framework aspirations and discuss how they could work with businesses to realise these goals, enabling the perfect environment to foster in-country investment missions, bi-lateral meetings between project owners, institutional investors and integrated energy solutions experts.
By staging a virtual edition of the 2020 event, AEBF will ensure the global industry has a platform to join in the conversation, look to the future and benefit from valuable first-hand insights via key leaders.
All strategic conference content, the Prime Minister’s opening keynote address, ministerial sessions and c-suite dialogues will be streamed online across the 4 days of the event.
The virtual forum promises a comprehensive and engaging content agenda with over 100 expert speakers, providing delegate attendees with incomparable insights into The Shape of Energy Transition in ASEAN, Energy Transition in Practice and Forward-Looking Solutions & Investment for ASEAN’s Sustainable Future.
