China’s CWE Interested in Serbian Hydropower

Water resources and hydropower engineering company China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE) is interested in building two small hydro power plants (SHPPs) on the river Zapadna Morava, in western Serbia, Belgrade-based media has reported.

Visiting officials from the Chinese company agreed at a meeting with the mayor of the central town of Trstenik Miroslav Aleksic to notify their plans to the relevant ministries so that talks could be intensified in the period ahead, news agency Tanjug reported. The location of the planned power stations falls within the territory of the Trstenik municipality.
