China Ming Yang to Increase Wind Turbine Generator Prices

Wind turbine maker China Ming Yang Wind Power Group said Friday the market prices for 1.5-MW and 2-MW Chinese-built wind turbine generators would rise to CNY 4,000 (USD 642/EUR 471) per kW in 2013.

The company’s statement came as a confirmation of predictions about the price increase made earlier by chairman and chief executive Chuanwei Zhang. The company said also that it planned to ship 2.5 GW of wind turbine generators this year, both at home and abroad.

Under the terms of a partnership agreement with Indian Reliance Power Ltd, 2.5 GW of wind power capacity will be installed by 2016. The funding for the joint projects will be partly provided by China Development Bank Corp.

Ming Yang also expects to export 400 MW of wind turbine generators in 2013 under engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts. A total 300 MW out of the total export capacity will be destined to Reliance Power.

The company said also it would supply 400 MW of wind turbines for two off-shore wind power projects in China’s Guangdong Province in 2013. Each of the two projects will have a capacity of 200 MW.
