Carbon Forum Asia: Asia Pacific’s Leading Platform for the Carbon & Energy Market
The Pacific Rim is becoming a hot-bed of carbon market activity, from Australia, China, Korea to California and Mexico. Fast growing industrializing nations such as China and India are putting in place policies and harnessing the power of market based mechanisms to lower the costs of reducing emissions. While Australia is set to link its carbon market with the EU in 2015, India has introduced its own trading platform focussing on energy efficiency. China is set to launch its pilot emissions trading schemes this year. Japan’s Bilateral Offsets Crediting Mechanism is under development while Korea is implementing its emissions trading by 2015. In the midst of these major developments, Carbon Forum Asia brings together carbon practitioners to meet and share experiences, as well as discuss the latest developments and trends in the carbon markets and climate finance.
