REC Wins 72MW Solar Panel Contract in Thailand

Solar energy developer REC Solar has secured a contract to supply solar panels totalling the power capacity of 72MW for construction of six solar power plants in Thailand. The company will deliver 293,040 REC Peak Energy Series solar panels which will be installed at the SolarCo power plants located in Nakhon Pathom and Suphan Buri provinces.

Yanhee EGCO Holding will own and operate the plants, while Italthai Engineering and Phoenix Solar have undertaken the engineering, procurement and construction work. REC Thailand managing director Jenvit Jivakulchainan stated that the company was proud to win this contract and added that it currently has 82MW of solar projects in Southeast Asia.

Further, this contract marks the company’s seventh venture in the country, which demonstrates its growing market position in Southeast Asia. REC Solar sales and marketing senior vice president Luc Graré remarked:

“We have made dedicated efforts in recent years to strengthen our global solar business and to significantly expand our presence in growing markets like Southeast Asia. We are glad to see that our efforts are now materializing.”
