Vestas Expands APAC Leadership Team

Company Expands Leadership Team and Aligns Organization for Increased Growth

Vestas Australia, the only global energy company dedicated exclusively to wind energy – today announced the appointment of Peter Cowling as Country Head /VP, Sales Australia and New Zealand.

Vestas’ ANZ footprint reflects the company’s track record, ambition and growth. Vestas in Australia already has a 2,931 MW installed base and 57% market share for installed capacity. More than 170 employees work hard to deliver high quality service and ensure optimal asset performance for its clients.

In this market landscape Mr Cowling will be responsible for Vestas’ Australia and New Zealand markets and lead the team to continue to build a competitive and sustainable wind power business, producing the lowest cost and lowest emissions electricity in the market, with the highest quality equipment and services. He will report to Clive Turton, President, Vestas Asia Pacific.

Mr Cowling brings more than 15 years of experience in the wind industry in Australia and New Zealand. He was most recently leading the GE team for Renewables in Asia Pacific and Australia that included on-shore wind turbines and hydro power. He was previously from Suzlon, and NEG Micon and a Commercial Manager in the Construction and Property sectors before seeking out opportunities in the renewable energy industry.

During his career, Mr Cowling has been involved in contracting and delivering over 3000MW of wind power. He has also been a board member of the Australian Wind Energy Association, and its successor body, the Clean Energy Council and is an enthusiastic advocate for renewable energy.

He holds Law and History degrees from Monash University.
