Singapore’s PUB and PWN Technologies sign Collaboration

Singapore’s PUB, the National Water Agency will work with a Dutch water supply company in the search for innovative water solutions to meet Singapore’s growing water demand more efficiently and boost its status as a global hydrohub.

Both sides will work together toward scientific and technological benefits by developing knowledge-intensive programs and projects.

PUB signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PWN Technologies to collaborate on advanced water treatment, as well as strengthen Singapore-Dutch industry relations.

The agreement was signed following a promising trial of PWN Technologies’ demonstration plant at Choa Chu Kang Waterworks.

It was signed by the Chief Technology Officer of Singapore’s PUB, Mr Harry Seah, and the Director of Technology Application of PWN Technologies, Mr Jonathan Clement in the presence of the Chief Executive of PUB, Mr Chew Men Leong and the Chief Executive Officer of PWN Technologies, Mr Pieter Spohr.

Both parties will work together to develop knowledge-intensive programs and projects that could lead to scientific and technological benefits.

Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was present to witness the signing of the MOU, together with Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade, Mrs Lilianne Ploumen.

The Dutch delegation also toured the demonstration plant.

Singapore’s PUB and PWN Technologies, through their appointed representatives, will also collaborate to co-organise the Global Water Utilities Innovation Forum in Amsterdam on how the water industry can address the future challenges of dwindling water supply, energy and sustainability.
