Itron Announces New Smart Metering Lab & Knowledge Center in India

Itron hosted an inauguration ceremony on Tuesday for its first Smart Metering Lab and Knowledge Center in India, at Itron India (located in Noida). The Smart Metering Lab and Knowledge Center is a demonstration center to showcase and demonstrate Itron’s smart metering and AMI solutions. It will benefit local utilities, government officials and other groups by sharing insights and knowledge Itron has learned through its vast international experience with smart grid solutions.
Attendees included Mr N.S. Sodha, executive director of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and member of India Smart Grid Task Force (Government of India), who was onsite as the chief guest. He was joined by senior industry executives from organizations such as Alstom India, BESCOM, Central Electricity Authority, TATA Power and Reliance Power, along with Itron channel partners. Itron presented a live product demonstration to all guests, which showcased Itron’s end-to-end AMI solutions.
