The trading arm of Electrocomponents plc, as well as the worldwide distributor for engineers, RS Components (RS), will be expanding its product range in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region by including thousands of products from the Festo range to its considerable Automation & Control (A&C) line-up in the region.

Festo, a global performance leader in industrial training and educational programmes, and a provider of automation technology, products, services, and systems surrounding pneumatic, as well as electric control and drive technology worldwide – in both the factory and process automation industries – will be reinforcing its position in certain markets in the APAC region with RS’ support. RS will be a major player in Festo’s distribution strategy within APAC, as well as globally.

The Festo range, available from RS, includes not only pneumatic and electric drive technology, but manifolds and valves as well. This wide range of equipment can be applied in assembly lines and production areas of numerous industrial sectors, whether in the automotive or electronics industry, semiconductor or food and beverage industry, or even to printing and packaging technology.

All Festo products available through RS are top sellers, and by adding these products to its A&C range, RS will be taking a step up in better serving and meeting the needs of its customers in APAC, when they source for products with specific applications to fill a certain need.

“By partnering with this leading supplier, we are addressing the gap in our pneumatics offer and enhancing our service to engineer,” RS Components Head of Product, Supplier, Inventory and Pricing Management, Asia Pacific, William Chong, said. “The Festo range is powerful and well-proven, thanks to huge efforts in research and development.”

This distribution agreement between RS and Festo comes at such a time just as Festo is reinforcing and consolidating its presence in the APAC region. The Festo range will be available for distribution in selected markets, such as: Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

By extending their partnership into the chosen markets also mirrors the two companies’ successful agreement across Europe, where Festo enjoys strong performance and an equally powerful following.

“The extension of this partnership is great news for our customer,” Managing Director of Festo South East Asia and Pacificm Mr EeSian Lee, said. “RS as a distribution partner makes perfect sense for us, with their extended network of industrial customers and market-leading support and service, [and] we look forward to a fruitful business partnership.”
