Alstom Hydro China Will Increase Production Capacity in 2013

Alstom Hydro China, the hydroelectric division of the French conglomerate’s unit in China said it is expected to increase production capacity and its research and development level in 2013. 
The company’s new Tianjin facility is expected to be completed in May and is set to become Alstom’s largest hydroelectric facility in the world.

The new facility will address local, regional and export markets. 
Alstom Hydro is also expected to complete the construction of its global technology center in Tianjin in July, which will be Alstom’s largest such facility worldwide. The company officials said the center will support its hydroelectric business growth in China and abroad.

Once the new global technology center begins operations, Alstom will become a full value chain entity in China, carrying out a vast array of hydroelectric activities, including R&D, sales and marketing, engineering and installation, maintenance and service. 
In 2012, Alstom Hydro China delivered a record number of 12 hydroelectric units, all of which were designed and manufactured at the Tianjin facility. The units were delivered to hydroelectric power plants across Asia, including Nuozhadu and Xiangjiaba in China, and Son La in Vietnam.

The company has accumulated a 20% market share of the total installed capacity of large hydro equipments in China over the past decade. 
Yves Rannou, general manager of Alstom Hydro China said Alstom will continue to play a significant role in the development of the hydro market in China and abroad at the same time contributing to the social development within and outside its industrial site in Tianjin Ltd.
