Suzlon to Develop 800 MW Projects with Chinese Wind Energy Company

Suzlon Group, the world’s fifth largest wind turbine manufacturer, has signed a global strategic partnership agreement with CGN Wind Energy Co. (CGNWE), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chensui China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group. CGNWE is one of the largest wind power developers in China with installed capacity of around 3,000 MW.

Suzlon’s agreement with CGNWE includes the development of 800 MW via domestic and international projects over the next three years. A working team has been set up to explore the most viable projects including in countries such as Brazil, South Africa, India and China.

CGNWE Chairman Chen Sui, says, “We are very happy to partner with Suzlon for the development of wind power projects worldwide. With Suzlon’s experience in the global market and CGNWE’s expertise in wind power, we are confident of building very successful projects to meet the renewable energy needs for these markets effectively.”

The Suzlon Group’s reach extends across Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and North and South America with over 19,000 MW of wind energy capacity installed in 28 countries. The Group’s portfolio includes 600 Kilowatts (KW) sub-megawatt, onshore turbines as well as the largest commercial 6.15 MW offshore turbine in the world.
