Galaxy Consortium Invest $2 bln in Pakistan Hydropower Projects

International company working in power sector, the Galaxy Consortium will invest $2 billion to develop hydro power projects up to 1000 MW in all in various locations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to this effect was signed between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Galaxy Consortium in a ceremony held at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar on Friday.
Secretary Energy and Power, Khalid Gillani and Chief Executive Galaxy  Group, Mr. Edward Brigham signed the MOU.The projects under this MoU will be implemented though various mood of implementation like public, private partnership (PPP) or build, own, operate and Transfer (BOOT). Sites for the projects may be selected with mutual consultation of both the parties, while the provincial government will provide one window facility to the Galaxy consortium.
Besides Member National Assembly, Shehrayar Afridi and Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly, Imtiaz Quershi, Mr. Austin Huang of Galaxy Consortium,Managing Director PHYDO, Bahadur Shah, Chief Planning Officer DHYDO Zainullah Shah and other concerned quarters attended the ceremony.
