Next-generation plant design softwareas part of an Integrated Engineering & Design approach will improve integration and multi-site working forlarge, complex projects

Paris, France – 11 March 2014: AVEVA today announced that Paul Wurth, a leading engineering company in the Iron &Steel industry, has implementedAVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D), AVEVA’s next-generation plant design software. By using this with other tools from the AVEVAIntegrated Engineering & Design suite of solutions, Paul Wurth will benefit from enhanced capabilities, improved integration and seamless global work-sharing.

“We piloted an alternative solution for 18 months, but as projects grow ever larger and become technically more challenging,it could not offer us the scalabilityof AVEVA E3D,”said Nicolas Leclaire, Head ofEngineering applications, Paul Wurth.

“In addition, we need a wide range of design and engineering toolsthat integrate seamlessly and enable projects to be worked onacross multiple sites. AVEVA Everything3D will save us time and cost across the whole design process byeliminating unnecessary rework, both in the design office and in construction, keeping us competitive in an ever-changing environment,”said Georges Schreiner, Head of Quality and IT Business solutions, Paul Wurth.

“Paul Wurth’s choice of AVEVA demonstrates the importance ofselecting and implementing a solution for the long-term,”said Fredy Ktourza, Senior Vice President –West EMEA, AVEVA. “AVEVA’s commitment to continual progression also means that Paul Wurth will be well placed to take advantage of the AVEVA technology quickly and with minimum disruption. This is a real future-proof solution.”

AVEVA E3Dexploits the latest technology innovations in mobile computing, Cloud computing and laser scanning to enable Lean methods in plant project execution. It is part of AVEVA’s Integrated Engineering & Design approach which improves project efficiency and reduces engineering and design costs by offering complementary products that draw on common processes, disciplines and deliverables, through a single managed information model.
