Alstom India gains on Euro contract from BHEL

Alstom India, leader in power generation, power transmission and rail infrastructure, gained on Monday after it secured a contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) worth close to Euro 30 million to supply components and services for the 2×660 MW Banharpalli Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) located in Jharsaguda, Orissa.

Under the scope of the contract, Alstom will co-operate with BHEL in designing the boilers and supply identified pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers, along with windboxes. It will also assist BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the units. Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs 399, up Rs 6.8, or 1.73% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday at 11:19 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 403 and low of Rs 396. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 3,764.In the earlier session, the shares gained 3.87%, or Rs 14.6, at Rs 392.20. Currently, the stock is trading down 9.32% from its 52-week high of Rs 440 and above 40% over the 52-week low of Rs 285.
