C3 advances smart tech internationally

C3 Energy has joined the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Trade and Development Agency in major trade missions to drive discussions around smart grid technology globally. Most recently, C3 Energy participated in a trade mission to meet with electricity and gas utilities and senior government officials in Japan and South Korea from Oct. 19-23.

“That adds up to substantial cost savings, reduced emissions, and improved reliability, safety and cybersecurity for energy companies and their customers.”

C3 Energy has also been involved in trade mission activities in other countries, including the Colombia Smart Grid Workshop, Middle East trade mission to the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, and Brazil Distributed Generation Technologies reverse trade mission.

“The American companies that join our trade missions, including C3 Energy, are leaders and innovators in their sectors,” said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. “These companies share a desire to do more business globally, to develop new and deeper partnerships, and to make investments in growing markets for the long-term.”

Over the last year, C3 Energy has grown in response to its expanding international customer base, with new offices in Japan, France, and Italy.

“C3 Energy’s customers include a diverse group of the leading energy companies in the world. Our involvement in trade missions and workshops in key international markets offers us a more in-depth understanding of our customers’ requirements and national energy priorities, and ultimately enables us to serve them better with software applications that meet their specific data analytics needs,” said C3 Energy Executive Vice President Jim Connaughton, who is leading many of C3 Energy’s international expansion efforts. “That adds up to substantial cost savings, reduced emissions, and improved reliability, safety and cybersecurity for energy companies and their customers.”

Prior to joining C3 Energy, Connaughton served as EVP and senior policy advisor of Exelon and EVP for Constellation Energy. From 2001 to 2009, Connaughton was chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
